St Luke's Hospice Sheffield

EES Showhire is a very proud supplier to the St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield.  When we were asked to help produce their Night Strider event we were very happy to meet up with them and discuss what was required.   The Night Strider is a public supported sponsored walk across the city of Sheffield to raise funds for the hospice.  It usually starts and ends in Tudor Square outside the Crucible Theatre in the heart of the city.

We were asked if we could supply a PA, starting gantry FX & lighting, memory wall UV lighting, stage lighting, power generation and power distribution.

In order for local radio presenters to host the event and talk with the crowd, a small stage is erected to raise them off the ground so that everyone can see them.  EES Showhire provide an Allen and Heath mixer, amplifier, four Bose speakers and suite of Sennheiser radio microphones for the presenters.  Quality audio coverage is achieved across the entire square through the Bose speakers.  To enable the presenters to roam freely, radio mic booster antenna’s are used to ensure premium coverage with no drop outs.  We also provide a local input on stage for music to be played.

Making sure the stage stands out, we use flame effects, moving head lighting, lasers and outdoor LED wash lights.

Being a charitable event, with many people entering in memory of a loved one, St Luke’s Hospice wanted to give people the ability to write a personal message on their special ‘memory wall’.  Using UV lights at night with special pens the memory wall looked fantastic fully lit up in the darkness.

Bringing a little wow factor to the start finish line we used confetti canons, fog fury FX machines and colour changing lights complete with in built lasers.   The fog fury and confetti machines can be fired remotely meaning they can be used whenever a strider returns or at the start itself.
